While each session is custom tailored to your horses needs, meaning some may require more of one technique/modality over another and some may need taping while others don't, you can expect the same level of elite care for each equine athlete from our team as we put your horses needs first, this means we actually don't time our sessions! I work at a pace at which your horse's body tells me to, some need extra time, some are more confident and relaxed meaning their body can release easier. As your horse progresses with us, it is honorable to have your sessions be 45-60 mins, this is a really good sign and points to the direction that we are doing everything right, they are feeling good and I'm finding less restrictions!!
Each session ranges from in length (see packages for details), our assessment sessions involve a more hands-on approach as we spend a great deal of time getting to know your horses body and its restrictions, during the session I will often discuss what I am doing or finding as I move through the map of your horses body. There will be times where I am extremely quiet and tuned into your horse, typically during headache relief, craniosacral and emotion code release. After your horses session I will complete my notes and recommend any homework/exercises to be done starting the next day. We will then discuss treatment frequency, for horses who don't have regular bodywork, I recommend a follow-up in 2 weeks and then spacing the sessions 4-6 weeks for performance horses or 6-8 weeks for horses who aren't under as heavy of a workload. These are my recommendations and will never force you to book appointments, it is important to remember appointment frequency can depict your horses performance or recovery.
After the session has finished your horse will need (ideally) the next 24 hours off from any sort of work and the ride following your horses session should be a light flat ride for them to figure out how their body feels. Some horses may feel "off" due to relaxing overused muscles and them needing to sort out using their muscles correctly.
